Omega 14K Gold Bumper Automatic Subseconds ref F6516 from 1952

This is a gorgeous Omega bumper automatic subseconds from 1952 in great original condition. The original white dial is in great condition, with soft patina throughout. The 14k solid gold case is in excellent unpolished condition, with light signs of use. The angles on the lugs are still very sharp. The crown is original and Omega signed. It's quite worn. This is a ref F6516, powered by a bumper automatic cal 344 from 1952. It just got serviced by my watchmaker in November 2026, it works perfectly and keeps great time. 

It measures 32mm diameter without crown, and 39mm from lug to lug. Comes on a new leather strap. It comes watch only, no box or papers. Boxes can be bought separately though, we have a few in the shop.

History: This is a US market model, which you can tell from a few things:

• The movement has an OXG import code on the balance cock. This was required by US law for all watch (movement) imports, used from 1930's to 1970. Different codes for different watch manufacturers.
• The gold purity: 14k gold watches were mainly sold in US and Germany, as this was the lowest purity permitted to be advertised as solid gold. In many other countries it was 18k (Switzerland, France, Spain, Japan,...), or 9K for the commonwealth countries (UK, Canada, Australia...). For large manufacturers like Omega any kind of gold cases usually got produced in the country where the watch was sold. The movement got imported as raw movement, and other parts were produced locally in the target market.
• The W14k Gold stamp inside the caseback: W stands for Wadsworth, which is the American based casemaker that made this case
  
• The F6516 reference number and the case serial: This is typical for US made cases; Swiss made cases used different reference numbers.
