Description
This is a rare genuine Rolex box set from the late 1950's & early 1960s, used for Submariner, Datejust, Oysterdate, Oyster Perpetual etc... It's a coffin style box with faux lizard print. It comes with the outer box, inner box, and even the Rolex guarantee card.
This model box is very hard to find, and it what the Submariner ref 5508 would originally come in. It is vintage and used, and in great condition for its age, but does have storage marks - especially the outer box.
The outer box has a sticker "6694 - steel/band", implying it was for an Oysterdate ref 6694. The guarantee card is signed 2000/813144, which would be a ladies Rolex Chameleon ref 2000, with serial number 813144. Sold date 23 january 1964 in Hong Kong.
