Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date ref 1500 from 1972 - Sigma dial

This is an incredibly stunning Rolex Oyster Perpetual Date ref 1500 from 1972. The white Sigma dial is in superb condition, looks absolutely amazing. Sigma dial means that the hour markers and hands are made from solid gold. It's indicated with the Greek letter 'σ' on the bottom of the dial: "σ T Swiss T σ". Which reads: It's a sigma dial with tritium lume. Rolex used the sigma designation from ca 1972 til late 1970's. Other Swiss watch houses like Patek Philippe used the Sigma designation much longer - even into the 90's.

The stainless steel case with smooth bezel is in excellent condition as well, with light signs of use. The crown is original and screws down nicely. The watch is powered by a chronometer certified automatic cal 1575. It just got serviced in June 2026, it works perfectly and keeps excellent time.

It measures 35mm diameter without crown, and 42mm from lug to lug. It comes on a steel Rolex oyster rivet bracelet, which is in great condition as well. Total bracelet length is 19cm. It fits up to 18cm wrist comfortably.
